Is financial support available?
- Yes, through our Ipswich Youth Soccer Scholarship Program.
- IYS believes that the opportunity to be an Ipswich Soccer Player should be made available to all members of our community when possible. We are pleased to offer partial and full scholarships to our players on a need basis and when our funding allows. Scholarship applications are required and can be submitted any time prior to our annual start in the fall of each year. We will also accept scholarship applications throughout the year on an as-needed basis. Scholarship approvals by the IYS Board of Directors is required prior to participation.

How are teams selected?
- In-Town:
- Kindergarten teams are formed to balance ages and genders.
- G2 league teams are formed to balance ages.
- Travel
- All players will be assessed for development and ability, based on coach feedback and pre-season evaluation. The objective of team selections is to best promote the development of each individual player.
- G4 teams are placed in either the Regional League or the Select League. Regional teams are formed to balance ability. Select teams are formed to match players who are further in development and ability. Participation in spring season soccer will be considered when assigning players to a Select team.
- G6 and G8 teams are placed in either the County League or the MTOC League. County teams are formed to balance ability. MTOC teams are formed to match players who are further in development and ability. Participation in spring season soccer will be considered when assigning players to an MTOC team.
Why are there registration deadlines?
- For travel leagues, ECYSA requires town leagues to submit team and player information approximately two months before the start of each season.
How are practice schedules determined?
- Practices are scheduled per coach and field availability.
Are uniforms required?
- In-Town: game jerseys are available for purchase; these reversible jerseys can be used for your player’s entire in-town soccer experience.
- Travel: kits are available for purchase.
What is the practice/game cancellation procedure?
- In-Town
- Practice: Coaches will communicate with teams.
- Games/Clinic: IYS will send email communication by 7am on Saturday mornings; typically, there are no make-up games/clinics.
- Travel
- Practices: Coaches will communicate with teams.
- Games: Typically, make-up games are scheduled.
